Course Overview

PetrisWINDS® Recall offers the most comprehensive solution for the handling, storing, and processing of well bore data. Data technicians and Petrophysicists in the oil and gas industry have come to rely on Recall for the extraction of all possible business information from their data sources.

This advanced course will provide participants with a thorough understanding of database administration concepts and practices in Recall, especially relating to the management of large Recall databases in a corporate environment.

Who Should Attend

All persons responsible for the design, population, and maintenance of Recall databases.

Prerequisites

Course participants should already have completed “Recall - Introduction” (and/or be familiar with operation of the Recall system as covered by that training) and have an understanding of problems associated with managing borehole-related data.

Objectives

The aim of the course is to teach Recall database administrators how to customize and manage Recall databases in the corporate environment of a major oil company

After completing the course, students will understand:

  • The theory behind the tabular and bulk data structures from which Recall databases are constructed
  • The design and customization of the Recall environment to suit clients’ particular requirements for data dictionary and resource settings
  • The population of Recall databases from industry-standard formats and third-party sources
  • The management of large Recall databases in a corporate environment
  • The advanced principles of Common Recall Administrative Tasks
  • The advanced principles of quality control specific to Recall data and RAVEN

Course Format

  • Brief explanation of current operating system environment relating to Recall
  • All training will be conducted in SuperView
  • Course notes and copies of slides will be provided
  • The course is given by a trained Petris software instructor
  • The course will conclude with an open forum for general discussion

Duration

The course will be conducted over a three-day period at the Petris training facilities.
