Editor's Corner -- We’ve had an exciting few
months at Petris, with
more to come later this year with a series of events
and meetings and at least one product introduction
on the horizon (sssh.. still secret!). Our offices and
staff are expanding as new people join through
acquisitions and business expands through numerous
new engagements and new solutions development.
Petris is definitely in growth mode! In the midst of
these changes, we still continue to work hard to
keep
the focus squarely on the customer – to make sure
that we have the expertise, the approach, the
technology and the ‘right size’ to meet your needs.
We greatly appreciate the trust our customers have
placed in us, and definitely aim to keep it.
This issue of PetrisNEWS has a number of interesting
announcements and news items, plus an important
message from Jim Pritchett, President and CEO.
Please let us know your thoughts and comments as
we continue to develop this newsletter to provide
timely and useful information for your business needs.

How Maurer Software Fits
The view from Jim Pritchett, Petris President and CEO
Jim took some time to write about his views regarding
the acquisition of Maurer software and how Petris is
growing
and developing. Conditions in our business
are causing complex data and application integration
situations. These are driving upstream and pipeline
companies to be more pragmatic in seeking solutions
that fit with their way of doing business while
providing an open framework for future growth. ...Full Story

Pipeline Case Study: Total Infrastructures Gaz France (TIGF)
Total Infrastructures Gaz France (TIGF) operates
4,900 km of pipeline in France,
and is engaged in a significant upgrade of
its IT support systems. New pipeline integrity
regulations in France
are driving
TIGF to migrate a significant portion of its current
pipeline management database to a new GIS-based
system that provides full geo-referencing. TIGF
sought to perform a needs
assessment study to help define the “roadmap” for
this migration, including a comparison with best
practices in the US where similar regulations have
been in place for a number of years. ...More

Petris Profile: Jennifer Bonnin
Each issue we highlight a different person in our
organization that helps make Petris the unique
company that it’s always been. This issue highlights
Jennifer Bonnin, who keeps our GIS services group
running.
Name: Jennifer Flax Bonnin
Hometown: Houston, Texas
What I do at Petris: Manage the GIS Group
and the GIS Development Projects
Tenure at Petris: I was hired as a contract
employee in Nov. 2003, and was then hired as an
official Petris employee in May of 2004, so, a
wonderful total of 2 years and 8 months.
Education: I graduated from Memorial High
School (local gal) and then received a bachelor’s
degree from Boston University in Environmental
Science and a master’s degree from Boston
University
in Environmental Remote Sensing and GIS.
Childhood ambition: I was dead-set on
becoming an actress. But as a responsible child I
listened to my parents who told me that I needed a
fall-back career. So I became an actress with a fall-
back career as an - orthopedic surgeon. The reality
of a 10 year old is a wonderful thing.
My first job was: A Starbuck’s
barista
Proudest moment: Marrying my husband,
cheesy but true.
Biggest challenge: With keeping track of 20
different projects from 15 different clients on a daily
basis, finding the right place to start each morning is
a challenge!
Indulgence: Chocolate brownie ice cream
from the Chocolate Bar.
Inspiration: Knowing I have those two
wonderful days between Mondays to myself each
week.
