Edgard Castillo, Product Manager, Drilling Software

Edgard Castillo is Product Manager for the Petris Drilling Software product line. Edgard was educated in Venezuela (MBA and EE degrees), and he has worked in the industry since the early 90s for Lagoven, Sperry Sun, Halliburton and Schlumberger. In these organizations he held a variety of roles in drilling engineering, well planning, business development and management of professional services. Edgard has primary responsibility for the DrillNET product line on a global basis– including product definition, product marketing and support of Petris drilling sales efforts.



Michael Dumm, Vice President

Mr. Dumm is currently responsible for Petris' Delivery of Products and Services which includes Quality Assurance and the Quality Management System. He has thirty-nine years experience in software development and general business management, and has held senior management positions where he was involved with development of GIS software packages (Cremans Inc), Document Management Systems (Handle Technologies, Inc.), Database Management Systems (Microprocessor Laboratories, Inc.) and Supervisory Process Control Systems (Pioneering Controls Technologies, Inc.) Mr. Dumm earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at El Paso.


Chris Hamley, Vice President, Well Data Products

Chris Hamley is responsible for Well Data Products and is the Product Manager for the PetrisWINDS Recall system. Chris has worked in software development in the exploration and production industry for over twenty five years. Chris joined Z&S Consultants in 1984, and was the principal architect and developer of the Recall Database. He was the Recall Software Development manager at Z&S Consultants and continued in that role following the takeover of Z&S by Baker Hughes in 1998.

Chris has been involved in all areas of Recall activities, including software architecture, software development, client liaison, technical sales support, marketing and the integration of Recall with other database systems. Chris is also active in the customization of PetrisWINDS Recall for clients and the organisation of large scale Recall population and database migration projects. Recall has been tightly integrated with several third party database systems, and Chris was responsible for the integration of Recall with the Finder and PetroBank database systems. His current interests include the increased automation of the loading and processing of borehole data and the integration of the Recall with PetrisWINDS Enterprise. Chris has also been active in industry standards initiatives such as the POSC PWLS. Chris holds a BSc in Cybernetic and Psychology from the University of Reading, UK


Robert Maggio, Vice President, GIS Operations

Dr. Robert Maggio is responsible for GIS Business Development, as well as assisting Petris clients in the planning, designing and geocoding of datasets for transfer into a geospatial database. Robert has over 25 years of experience in working with geographic information systems (GIS); his areas of specialization include the design, implementation and operation of GIS and the interface of remotely sensed data to those systems. Prior to joining Petris, Robert was a professor and director of the Mapping Sciences Laboratory at Texas A&M University, one of the largest mapping facilities in the country. In addition to twenty years of classroom teaching, Robert has conducted GIS, Remote Sensing and Global Positioning workshops and training sessions for hundreds of companies, government agencies and students, both locally and internationally.

Robert has been published in over 50 industry journals and has traveled extensively working with international organizations. His work has been centered around the design and implementation of GIS-based systems for the monitoring and inventory of natural and man-made resources. He has a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science from Mississippi State University and a Doctor of Philosophy in Remote Sensing from Texas A&M University.


Bret Warner, Product Manager, Operations Center

Bret Warner has over 10 years of engineering and management experience in the oil and gas and chemical process industries. His experience includes 8 years in process measurement and controls engineering and 4 years of management experience in providing software solutions to the oil and gas industry with a focus on production operations and asset management. Bret's experience in engineering, management, and sales enable him to assess our client's specific business and technical needs and apply the right software, training and consulting solutions. Bret received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from The University of Cincinnati and he holds an MBA degree from the University of Houston.



John Zangwill, Software Architect

Dr. John Zangwill is involved in the architecture and product strategy for PetrisWINDS Recall. John has over twenty-five years experience in software development in the oil exploration and production industry. He was a founder and Technical Director of Z&S Consultants Limited, the original creators of Recall, which was later acquired by Baker Hughes Inc. There he worked to ensure that the software products were “future-proof” without losing state-of-the-art capability. His specialities include interactive graphics and web technology.

Dr. Zangwill holds MSc and PhD degrees in Mathematical Logic from the University of Bristol (UK), with a BA/MA in Mathematics from the University of Cambridge (UK).
